The Nikon Z5IIC is built around the same 24.5MP sensor and Expeed 7 processor as the Nikon Z5II and Zf, so you can be assured of fantastic image quality. This tech combines with the Nikon Z mount – the widest in the full-frame market – to gather as much light as possible, giving you awesome colours, details and low-light performance.

Compose and capture quickly 

Using the vari-angle monitor, you don’t have to raise the camera to your eye before taking a picture. You can act quickly and, instead of all those eye-level images, you’ll be composing using high and low angles to expand your creativity. Using the monitor at waist level also makes it easier to take candid, unposed images, capturing natural expressions and authentic moments.

Monitor control

The monitor is also the central way to control the camera. Tap to focus and shoot for instant results. Swipe to review images and videos. Double tap and pinch to zoom in and out. All menus and settings can be operated via the monitor, so you don’t have to fiddle about with buttons and miss the moment. The absence of the EVF also means the Nikon is easy to get in and out of a bag and is balanced for easy one-handed operation.

With 15 Scene modes, which automatically set up the camera for a specific situation, you’ll always get the best outcomes on screen. Scene modes cover everything from portraits and landscapes to candlelight, food, autumn colours and much more. Simply select a Scene mode to get the look you want – no technical expertise is needed!

Flat design, comfortable in the hand

The Nikon Z5IIC’s streamlined, flat design, without the ‘hump’ of a viewfinder, makes it easy to get in and out of a bag. The ergonomic grip makes the camera comfortable to hold for one-handed operation and carrying around.

Instant looks from Recipes and film grain

Get more instant looks for your images and video with Nikon Imaging Cloud Recipes – an expanding library of presets designed by Nikon Creators, Nikon and RED. Simply press the Picture Control button to try out different recipes on screen and customise your selection for quick and easy access. If you’re after a retro look to your images, you can also add one of three different film grain looks (small, medium and large). The randomly generated grain never repeats, creating one-of-a-kind images with a textured, film-like look.

Superfast autofocus and subject detection

The Nikon Z5IIC recognises dogs, cats, people, birds, cars, motorbikes, bicycles, trains, planes and (in a Nikon first) fish! The camera will automatically lock on to your chosen subject so you can concentrate on composition, safe in the knowledge that the results will be sharp. Autofocus also operates in very low light situations, such as moonlight or candles, giving you more freedom to create.

Fast and stable gets results

When you want to capture fast-moving action, the Nikon Z5IIC can take up to approximately 14 frames per second. The autofocus will be locked in and the in-body stabilisation helps everything stay sharp. The stabilisation also features Nikon’s own focus point VR (Vibration Reduction), which centres the most reduction on the focus point rather than just the middle of the frame.

Great video specs

You can film in full HD 120p, 4k 30p or 4k 60p (cropped) for fantastic footage with a professional feel, and there is a choice of compression formats, including the ability to record RAW in-camera to an SD card. Nikon’s Product Review Mode lets the camera change focus to an object held up in front of it – so no more having to cover your face in product review vlogs. The smaller form of the Nikon Z5IIC also means it’s very gimbal-friendly, plus it has a red tally light on the front to indicate when you’re filming.

The wide dynamic range and high ISO mean you’ll get results where shadows still have details and lighter areas aren’t blown out.
